Viewing patient tracking lists
PTL, RTT tracker
Depending on your permissions, you can view Patient Tracking Lists (PTL) from Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL. These lists allow you to track patients' RTT Referral To Treatment. The length of time from referral to treatment. pathways.
Viewing patient tracking lists on a mobile
You can't do this on a mobile.
Viewing patient tracking lists on a desktop

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, select your search criteria.
Select + to add a search criteria.
Use the table below to choose your search criteria. You must choose an RTT status or enter a pathway ID.
Specialty
Select a specialty to search for RTT pathways with that specialty. Pathway ID
Enter an ID to search for a specific RTT pathway. Hospital No
Enter a patient's hospital number A number given to the patient when they are registered at the hospital. A patient might have multiple hospital numbers. to search for that patient's RTT pathways. NHS No
Enter a patient's NHS number A unique 10 digit number given to patients in England and Wales. A patient is given an NHS number when they are born, or on their first visit to a healthcare provider. to search for that patient's RTT pathways.
Surname
Enter a patient's last name to search for that patient's RTT pathways.
RTT Status
Select a status to search for RTT pathways with that status.
For example, 'First activity (10)'.
Validation status
Select a status to search for RTT pathways that need validating, or have been validated.
PTL List
Select the type of patient tracking list.
To search for patients with treatment in:

An inpatient ward, select Admitted.
This includes patients with a Decision To Admit (DTA), patients on a waiting list for a procedure, and patients with a preadmission to an inpatient ward.
For example, a patient who needs surgery and an overnight stay in hospital.

An outpatient clinic, select Non-admitted.
For example, a patient receiving physiotherapy as an outpatient, or a patient whose treatment was cancelled due to a medical reason.

Select .
A table appears.

Double-click on a pathway to view that patient's episodes.
From the bottom right of the screen, select to view that patient's episodes in another window. This allows you to view the list of RTT pathways and a specific patient's episodes at the same time.

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, you can view patient tracking lists.

Here you can select the criteria for your search. To clear one search term, select next to the search term. To clear your whole search, select next to . |

Drag column headings here to group rows by that heading. Select next to the name of a group to remove it. |

Select to view an RTT pathway's details. You can also:

Select to send an ad-hoc letter to one or more patients. |

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, select your search criteria.

Select one or more RTT pathways.

Select Send letter.
-
Select a letter you want to send.
For example, a letter about the appointment.
The following appear:

The name of the letter
-
The recipient of the letter
-
How the letter is delivered
-
Any attachments automatically added to the letter

Optional: edit the name of the letter.

To preview a letter:
-
From Preview for, select a patient to preview the letter for that patient.

Select Preview.

To edit the letter, select Editor.

To add attachments to the letter:

Select

Search for an attachment, or browse folders until you find an attachment.

Select an attachment.

Select

Select outside the dialogue box.

To save the attachments you added, select Yes.

To sign a letter, or to remove a signature from a letter:

From Preview for, select a patient to preview the letter for that patient.

Select Preview.

Select Sign off.
-
Select an option.
-
To sign the letter with your name, select Sign.

To sign the letter for someone else, select Sign as, then select their name.

To remove a signature from the letter, select Un-sign.

To send the letters, select Send.

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, select your search criteria.

Select .

Select an RTT pathway.

Select Show details.
-
Select Edit pathway details.
-
Select the type of pathway.
For example, consultant led or cancer.

Select the start date for the pathway.
-
Enter a reason for editing the pathway's details.
-
Select Update.

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, select your search criteria.

Select .

Select an RTT pathway.

Select Show details.
-
Select Delete pathway.
-
Select a reason for deleting the pathway.

Enter any notes.
-
Select Delete.

You can reinstate deleted RTT pathways.

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, select your search criteria.

Select .

Select an RTT pathway.
-
Select Show details.
-
Select Reinstate pathway.

Enter any notes.
-
Select Reinstate.

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, select your search criteria.

Select an RTT pathway.

Select Add Administrative Event.

Enter a date and time for the event.

Enter any notes.

Select an RTT status for the event.

Select Add.

Select Show details.

From Activity, select an activity with the label 'Administrative Event'.

Select Edit Administrative Event.

Enter a date and time for the event.

Enter any notes.

Select Save.

Select Show details.

From Activity, select an activity with the label 'Administrative Event'.

Select an RTT pathway.

Select Show details.

From Activity, select an activity.

Double-click in the Notes column.

Enter any notes.

You can validate activities on a patient's RTT pathway. Validating activities allows you to check RTT status is correct, check the RTT pathway is on track, and avoid and manage breaches.

From Outpatients > Manage > RTT Pathways PTL, select your search criteria.

Select .

Select an RTT pathway.

Select Show details.

From Activity, select an activity.

Double-click in the Val column.

Select an option.
To record that you:

Validated an activity:

Select Completed.

Enter the date and time you validated the activity.

Enter any notes.

Select Set Validation Completed.

Are validating an activity:

Select In Progress.
-
Enter the date and time you started to validate the activity.

Enter any notes.

Select Set Validation In Progress.

Need to validate an activity:

Select Required.
-
Enter the current date and time.
-
Enter any notes.

Select Set Validation Required.

You can validate a patient's RTT pathway. Validating a pathway allows you to check RTT status is correct, check the RTT pathway is on track, and avoid and manage breaches.

Enter the date and time you validated the RTT pathway.

From Validation, select an option.
To record that you:

Validated a pathway, select Completed.

Need to validate a pathway, select Required.
